Five for Friday

Tornado drill, bloodiest paper cut I have ever seen, tons of lost teeth, Dr. Seuss' birthday, new mandatory computer program, blah blah blah.  This was my week.  Now it's the weekend!  Woo-hoo!

Check out this week's Five for Friday linky!

Dental Health Month - I may have waited until the last two days of Dental Health Month, but I got my favorite Dental Health Activity completed!  We took hard boiled eggs and put them in pop overnight.  On day 2, we used a toothbrush and toothpaste and cleaned our eggs.  This is always a favorite activity and really shows my students why they need to brush their teeth!

Dr. Seuss' Birthday - This year we didn't have as much time to get into all the Dr. Seuss activities that I would normally have completed.  Oh well, at least I got to wear my fabulous Cat in the Hat jewelry bought through my Etsy addiction! On another note, I may or may not need to enter an Etsy-anonymous rehab program soon.

If I Ran the Zoo - I should have read this Dr. Seuss story this week.  It could have been an autobiography...

4

Paczki Day - Fat Tuesday is Paczki Day!  If you have never had a Paczki, I highly recommend them! Yum!  I just felt the need to brag about my food! 😊

Casimir Pulaski Day - Do you live outside the Chicago-land area?  If so, you probably never heard of him.  Growing up in this area, I always loved the guy, because I got the first Monday in March off of school.  I never took the time to know who he was or questioned why we got the day.

Flash forward to when I became a teacher.  I felt the need to teach my students all about him. Unfortunately, there is not much out there.  I made my own product to help teachers show students what an amazing man he was!  Click the pic below if you want to check this out.

  1. I've never heard of the egg teeth cleaning activity before. Love it. My dental health kit didn't show up until yesterday, so I missed the month completely, but I guess any time is a good time to learn about cleaning your teeth. Thanks! Kathleen

  2. I didn't have much time for Dr. Seuss this year either because we were doing a wax museum. I love the teeth cleaning activity! I'll add it in next year!
