Weekly Recap - The Good and the Bad

I am finally on Thanksgiving Break! I am super excited about this! I need a break...and sleep!

My class is very immature this year.  You would not know they are third graders by talking to them (or watching them since someone is always crawling on the floor)!

Here are some questions/comments that made me want to bang my head against the wall this week. (Please note that this is only a tiny amount since there is so much more - see my Twitter and Facebook pages for more!)
* "Would you be mad at me if I turned into a baby?"
* As one student was leaving for the bus, he was looking for a girl in class that goes with him...the girl that was absent all day.
* "What would you do if I turned into a duck?"
* When asked what a girl was doing, she told me she wanted to see the chicken. She was holding a turkey decoration.

1.  I love using task cards! I vary the ways I use them, so they always remain interesting for my students.  This time, I let them choose the difficulty level of the cards they would work on.  Most of my students chose to challenge themselves with more difficult ones!

2.  Today we made Pumpkin Pie in a Bag - yummy! We reviewed the importance of following directions and sequencing.  Click HERE to get your copy of this activity.

It looks gross, but tastes great!

Our mess!

2.  We also had fun making butter in science and using candy corn to review greater/less than in math.  Thanksgiving is the perfect time to use food in class!

This was the best butter in the world according to my students!

How was your week?
What was good and bad for you?
