Weekly Recap - The Good and the Bad

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

This recap is a little late. Instead of writing this, I spent last night car shopping. It took everything out of me! At least it's the weekend.

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

My Car Died - It's been a long time coming. Technically I can get it fixed but the repair will cost more than my car is worth. 😞 This was a school problem because I needed to take a day off unexpectedly on Thursday. I also had to facilitate a ride to and from school on Friday.

Children's Day - Our school celebrates Children's Day, a holiday honoring children. The plan was to move all the students to different grade levels and have them do activities with different teachers. I had fourth graders rotating in my room, the fourth graders that I couldn't stand last year. It made for a LONG morning. Then at lunch they gave the students popcorn and popsicles. Dealing with this day was not on my list of fun activities.

My Coworkers - I work with some of the best teachers out there! They are so helpful and supportive! Through all my car issues this week and unexpected day off, they were there to lend a hand!

Health Station - This Health Station has been a life saver lately. My students are a bunch of hypochondriacs! This has everything we need for all their ailments (except for wet paper towels - they go to the sink for these). It's amazing that something so small can bring such joy and cure all ills!

Earth Day Activities - I love doing activities for Earth Day! We talked about the ways we could help the Earth, read one of my favorite stories, The Lorax, and completed different math activities. In the past, I have had students reuse materials to create new products but I couldn't handle that this year. I was happy with a simpler, calmer Earth Day.
