Weekly Recap - The Good and the Bad

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

Week 2 of summer school is over! One week and two days left before I am officially on summer break (but who's counting)!

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

Field Trip - Today we took our summer school classes to the zoo. Normally this a place I enjoy going. Today, however, it was nuts! It took us about an hour to get there and park (took extra time due to flooding). Because of this, we literally had 30 minutes to explore...in the rain! I knew we would have limited time but I expected an hour and was annoyed at how much time we actually had. We spent about three times as much time on the bus than at the zoo! I did move my students quickly through part of the zoo to some animals they really wanted to see - bears and penguins. We were able to see a lot more animals on the way but boy did I move my students at super speed! In fact, I wore them out so much, they were sound asleep on the ride back!

Xtra Math - I love this website. It has worked out as a really great math center this summer in order for my students to review their facts! The best part is that it is free!

Hot Potato - I tried a new game with my students this week. We passed a ball around while the music was going. When the music stopped, whichever student had the ball had to answer a multiplication question. This was a popular one!
