Weekly Recap - The Good and the Bad

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

This week marked the end of another school year, a three-day jam-packed vacation, and a PD for summer school which officially starts on Monday.

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

Last Day of School - I planned on a fun filled last day of school with my students helping me finish packing up the rest of the room in between activities. Instead, I was pulled out all day for a meeting. The aide that covered my room did my fun activities - like making trail mix and reading my FAVORITE last day book - Last Day Blues. Since I wasn't there to direct the packing, it didn't get done. By the time I got back to my room, I had less than 30 minutes left with my little ones. I then stayed 4 more hours after school packing up my classroom by myself. I wanted to alternate between crying and screaming. It was a lousy way to end the year!

This is my windowsill all packed up. What's not seen is the windowsill of my neighbor teacher's classroom that I "borrowed" for the rest of my junk. Thankfully he is so easy going about letting me use it!

Shaving Cream Fun - I was able to at least start the shaving cream activity with my students. I gave each student a large amount of the cream on their desks. We practiced math facts and wrote messages. My students LOVED this activity! I also love how it cleans off the gunk that has built up all year on their desks.

Vacation - My vacation may have lasted three days but I had fun! I got to spend time with my goddaughter (and sister/brother-in-law). We went to the zoo and shopped! Only 17 more school days until I am officially on Summer Break!
