Monday Summer Book Club - Unshakeable Chapters 9 and 10

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

Have you heard the news? We are doing a book club this summer! Our Facebook Group voted on Unshakeable by Angela Watson.

(Disclaimer: Affiliate link below. Using it will not cost you anything, but will earn me a small commission.)

This week we are reading Chapters 9 and 10. These chapters focus on "letting your vision define your value and measure of success" as well as "uncovering the compelling reason for every lesson you teach."

Get your copy now! Our book discussion has officially started, but feel free to join in any time!

Below are the questions that are in our Facebook Group.

Chapter 9 Questions - The focus of this chapter is to create a vision for yourself beyond just wanting to do your best.

Question 1 - Do you agree or disagree with the statement that "You cannot simply 'do your best'"? Explain.

Question 2 - Do you have a vision for yourself/your classroom? What is it?

Chapter 10 Questions - We all know that there are many things we have to teach because it is a part of our curriculum or will be on a test. Because of this, the chapter focuses on finding the compelling reason behind what we teach.

Question 1 - What are "the life and character skills that you are passionate about teaching to students?"

Question 2 - How can you transform a lesson that you do not enjoy teaching into one that is interesting and engaging to students?

There is no right or wrong answer. Please feel free to be candid about your responses. If you would like, answer them in the comments below or join our Facebook Group (click on the words or search Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher Book Club). The Facebook Group is a private, closed group (for those of you that want a more close knit group for the discussion). Either way you would like to participate, I hope to hear from you!
