Weekly Recap - The Good and the Bad

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

This week ended on a sad note...our Assistant Dean passed away yesterday. She had taken over the position a year and a half ago when the Assistant Dean at that time had passed away. Our poor Dean took the news hard.

Testing - We spent Monday through Thursday testing. This disruption in our schedule caused so many issues! My students went loopy! I had one boy tell me his mother turned him into a dog. Another boy made weird noises almost nonstop. I had to talk to multiple parents about classroom issues this week. I think the best(worst?) was the introduction of a 'pet' into our room. He was created during breakfast and drove my students crazy! Meet our 'pet' Peely.

Scholastic - Once again, I went crazy with my Scholastic order, but I got a ton of books for only $1 each or free with my points. Check out how I get so many $1 deals by reading the blog post HERE.

Conferences - We had Parent/Teacher Conferences today. I had 10 parents come, including some I haven't seen all year. I must say that conferences have gotten easier over the years. I have gotten pretty good at mixing the good with the bad so parents leave on a hopeful note. (Sometimes I need to toot my own horn!)
