Make It Thursday - Pencil Containers

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

Today we are making something totally frivolous - pencil containers. While these don't NEED to be made, they will add a touch of whimsy to your classroom.

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

Where to find the materials?

Like most of my projects, I found my materials at the dollar store. You will need:

* metal containers
* crayons (about 1 and 1/2 boxes per container)
* hot glue
* raffia or ribbon (optional)

How do I make these?

1. Hot glue the crayons around the metal container.

2. Add raffia or ribbon to tie around the container once all the crayons are glued on. This gives it a finished look.

Some Additional Notes:

Sometimes, you need something cutesy in your classroom to make you happy. That's what these containers are for me. By the way, these are great to make as gifts for coworkers.

What things would you like to make on Thursdays with me?
