Wednesday Organization - Base 10 Blocks

Confessions of a Frazzled Teacher

I have tried many different ways to organize my Base 10 blocks to make them easy to pass out - larger tubs that students shared, plastic bags filled with enough for an individual students, just giving handfuls on blocks to students, etc. Unfortunately, I did not like any of these options. Then I made a little trip to the dollar store and found the perfect containers! They had rectangular divided containers. Unfortunately, they do not have them anymore. I have an alternative for you.

Materials Needed:

* Containers - Dollar Tree has divided containers, but they are circular.
Round Plastic Divided Storage Containers with Lids, 41.5 oz.
Your Base 10 blocks

How to Do This:

Put enough blocks into each section that one student or a pair of students can use.

Benefits:

These are much easier to pass out! I have enough sets for every two students to use. I found it took a lot less space and was even faster to pass these out.

What do you need help organizing in your classroom?
